Ingredients

  • 1 lb channa (alternatives are blackeye or soya bean)
  • 3 pts water
  • ΒΌ pt cooking oil
  • 1 small pepper, chopped
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 tsp salt
  • Black pepper

Directions

1. Soak the channa overnight then, when ready, put the channa into boiling salted water and cook until soft. Remove from the liquid.

2. Heat the oil. Add the chopped onion, pepper and channa, and fry for 2 to 3 minutes.

3. Serve hot.
