Ingredients

  • 2 cans tuna preferably solid tuna packed in oil, drained
  • 1 shallot, finely minced
  • 1/2 tbsp crushed red chili pepper flakes
  • Juice of half a lime
  • 2 tsp fish sauce
  • 1/2 seedless cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 tsp fresh ginger, grated on a microplane
  • 1 tbsp cilantro, chopped

Directions

1. In a medium bowl, gently toss the tuna, shallots, chili pepper flakes, lime juice, fish sauce, cucumber, ginger and cilantro. You want to lightly coat the tuna while keeping it slightly chunky

2. Allow the tuna salad to marinade for at least 10 minutes for good flavor

3. Served chilled or at room temperature with lettuce leaves, pita wedges or crackers.
